Hello! I'm Lauren...

I hold a Ph.D. in industrial and organizational psychology from Grand Canyon University and a Masters in clinical social work from Arizona State University. I have been a clinical psychotherapist for over 10 years and enjoyed a brief stent as the executive director of a nationwide not-for-profit organization from 2014-2015.

When I am not in the office, I enjoy spending time with my amazing daughter and husband, who are also neurodiverse. We are passionate about health and wellness, enjoy rock climbing, being creative, goofing around with our 2 Great Danes named Benny and Bunny, our 3 cats named Fifi, Ninjago, and Squints, and a ball python named Monty Python.

In the past few years, I too have struggled to figure out how to navigate pandemic and post-pandemic life. There have been periods when I became inundated with people contacting me for consults or asking questions. As an AuDHD person, I too can struggle with things like EF skills, demand avoidance, and managing my social battery. I have worked hard to create a new process and pattern that makes the work-life balance feel manageable and allows me to be the best person and psychologist I can be.

I strive to do the same for others.

My story and why I'm so passionate about Neurodiversity

I didn't learn to understand my neurodivergent self until my early 30's, but it's been an amazing and life-changing journey since! Learning to understand and embrace my neurodiversity has changed my life, both personally and professionally. Now, I help others do the same.

Neurodiversity consultations are virtual meetings that are designed to screen for/diagnose Autism and ADHD. I specialize in adult diagnoses, especially in females and non-traditional presentations. The consult lasts 2 hours, and you will have answers by the end of our time together! As we go through the consult, I intertwine teaching and assessment so each client can understand the science and "why's" behind our neurodiverse lived experiences. I want you to walk away feeling confident, validated, and ready for whatever is next. During the consult, I will guide us through a conversation outlined by the two psychological tests that are the "gold standard" for understanding and diagnosing neurodiversity. We will discuss the ins and outs of how your neurodiversity impacts you, and discuss possible accommodations that may benefit you.

I am happy to help complete paperwork for accommodations for most academic and professional endeavors.

Please note, that I am unable to help with state and/or federal financial or disability programs (i.e. SSDI/SSI,  unemployment, housing, etc.). If you are looking for this higher level of support, I suggest looking to a local neuropsychologist for a comprehensive evaluation.

To say that neurodiversity is my special interest feels like an understatement, but it's true. I am passionate about helping people learn to understand their neurodivergence, and how to proactively create the life they want. I love my work and I love my career field. As a neurodiverse individual myself, as well as a parent of a neurodiverse child and the spouse of a neurodiverse person, I have a unique and in-depth perspective and ability to help our amazing community! Please feel free to contact me to discuss how I can help you and your family!
